Canyon Church of Christ in Anthem Arizona

Tom Riley - Minister PDF Print E-mail

My wife, Anne, and I met at Lipscomb University in Nashville.  She's an administrator in the Scottsdale Unified School District and works alongside me in every aspect of our ministry life.  In fact, she was the one who first saw Anthem and urged me to pray and look into sending someone here to plant a church.  We prayed for three years and came to the conclusion that it was us God was calling to Anthem.  We left an incredible church in the Nashville area, and made the transition from being their senior minister to being their homeland church planter.  The Lord has blessed us every step of the way.

Our two children have richly blessed our lives.  Emily recently married Cesar Guerrero, and they live in Washington D.C. where Emily is practicing law and Cesar is a consultant for BAE Systems.  Jim finished an M.Litt. at St. Andrews in Scotland and is now teaching English in Spain.

Our hobbies include hiking, cooking (Anne's incredible), reading, archaeology, and writing.  I've written three books. Praying With Jesus was written to be a small groups resource.  Dying to Live Again is a study for those wanting to be baptized.  And The Awesome Acts of God was written as a text for one of the college courses I taught at Lipscomb.  But, catch us with a free Saturday, and we're likely to be on a canyon trail in Sedona.

Come and visit us at Canyon.  You'll receive a warm welcome, and hopefully you'll find some special friends here...friends for eternity.
