"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." - Mark 16:15
Did you know that there are over six billion people in the world and 40% of them have never heard God's message of love through Jesus Christ? If we are intentional about fulfilling the Great Commission in Mark 16:15, we must partner with other Christians around the world to reach these people. While we are a growing church in a mission point in the state of Arizona, we also want to be Missions-minded and are working to build more and more support for other outreach efforts.
Here are some ways you can get involved.
PRAY - Pray for the work of God around the world and for the missionaries who have devoted their lives to working with people of another culture in a foreign land. Be thankful that God doesn't see borders, just people... pray that we will do the same.
SEE THE NEED - In Acts 1:8, the disciples of Jesus were told to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Here's how that breaks down for us: Jerusalem (ANTHEM); Judea (PHOENIX); Samaria (ARIZONA and the U.S.); ends of the earth (COUNTRIES around the world). Let us allow God's vision to be our vision.
BE INVOLVED - Every Christian has been commissioned to make fellow believers right where we live. Fulfill a spiritual need in the life of another person, support local and global efforts financially, even consider joining a missions team and traveling to mission points around the world. Several from the Canyon church have been involved in global missions, and you can too!
Here are some areas of missions you can partner with us on:
The Gathering, Chandler, AZ
The Navajo Nation
Isaiah Etukeren, Nigeria
Sam and Nancy Shewmaker. Rwanda
Let's Start Talking
Continent of Great Cities
Windows of Hope (medical missions)
I was hungry … you gave Me food
I was thirsty … you gave Me drink
I was a stranger … you took Me in
I was naked … you clothed Me
I was sick … you visited Me
I was in prison … you came to Me
As you did it to the least of these …
You did it to Me
Jesus
