Our Purpose
The Marriage & Family Ministry exists to encourage spiritual growth and provide Biblical training for marriage, parenting and family living.
Our Core Values
- Jesus must have the first place in everything, including family life (Col 1:18).
- Marriage between a man and a woman is a gift from God. God created marriage (Gen 1, Adam and Eve).
- Children are a wonderful blessing from God and a welcome addition to a family (Psalm 127:3).
- Our first ministry is our family and we can't neglect them as we minister to others. (1 Tim. 5:8)
- Parents are the primary and most influential teachers of their children and have been entrusted by God to disciple their children in the training and instruction of the Lord (Deut 6:6-9; Eph 6:1-3).
- Experienced members of the Body of Christ must come alongside families to teach and mentor them (Titus 2).
Our Ministry
Our Sunday morning class is intended for equipping the saints for the ministry. During these classes we discuss topics such as Marriage, Parenting and other Bible principles that strengthen Families and your walk with Christ. Stay tuned, future classes to be offered include the following:
Fusion is designed for young singles, couples that are engaged to be married or couples that have been married under 3 years.
C3 is for young married couples that are beginning to grow their families. The focus is on relationship strengthening through the many life changes in marriage. C3 stands for Committed Couples for Christ.
Homebuilders is for parents with children of all ages with emphasis on upper elementary to teens.
Monthly activities involving families is vital to church and personal growth. You can find families getting together through Connection groups, play-days and for simply no occassion at all other than to build relationships with one another. Each fall our church spends a few days together at Copper Basin in Prescott, AZ for a weekend of fun and fantastic fellowship! This years dates are September 19-20th.
Marriage Mentoring will encourage and equip you as you go through different stages of your married life. Once a month, you will have an opportunity to meet and pray with another couple and share your relationship issues with. Pre-marital and Marriage Counseling is offered at the Canyon church. Marriage is the 2nd biggest decision you will ever make in life. (first, being the decision to become a follower of Christ.) It is vital to prepare for and deal with the challenges that come in every marriage.
