From the minute you walk through our doors to the time you leave, we make it a point to offer a friendly face, an outstretched arm and to welcome all those seeking the Lord. Your first point of contact when you come to the multi-purpose building will be the Welcome Center. This is where you can pick up an information-packed bulletin, crayons and color sheets for the kids and have an opportunity to tell us more about yourself. Here are some FAQ's that will help you feel right at home at Canyon: What do people wear? Anything they want. While you may see a few people in suits and ties, most are casually dressed, often in jeans or even shorts. Our focus is not on who wears what but whether people are connecting--with God and with their neighbor. After all, this is Arizona! Will I be singled out as a visitor? We make a general announcement to visitors during the service that welcomes them but do not give them nametags, ask them to stand or otherwise identify themselves. No one will know this is your first time here unless you tell them. What happens during your worship service? Our worship is full of songs, prayers, sharing communion (bread and juice that represents Christ's sacrifice), a time of offering (with no obligation to give), a Bible-based lesson followed by an invitation for prayer, recommitment or baptism. Our service concludes with a pastoral prayer from one of our leaders. How do I become a part of the Canyon Church of Christ? Making the personal decision to become a Christian (follower of Christ) and being baptized allows you into the family of God. Being involved in a Connection Group and the different ministries we have available is something you can let us know about as you feel called by God to do. Just let one of the ministers or an elder know of your desire to be fully connected and they'll be happy to help. Canyon members: If you'd like to be a part of the "first impression" that our newcomers experience, contact Rae Morue.
