Classes

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Our Bible classes will encourage and strengthen you in your daily walk of faith, help you get connected with others who will come alongside you for the journey, and increase your knowledge of our loving God and the good work He wants us to do.  Below is a brief overview of the classes we typically offer on Sunday mornings.  Be sure to also check out our Small Group Studies that meet at various days, times, and locations.

SUNDAY MORNINGS – 9:45 AM

Adults – Stories of Forgiveness from the Bible
Worship Center Auditorium
Led by Jay Carter, Steve Huffman, and Will Smith
This class will be a survey of various accounts from both the Old and New Testaments, where acts of forgiveness feature prominently. From Joseph being sold into slavery, to Saul trying to murder David, to a woman caught in adultery, the Bible is full of human stories of hurt, mistakes, and most importantly, forgiveness.

Adults – The Art of Forgiving
Education Bldg., Room 406
Led by Wyane Atkinson
God commands us to forgive others, but what does that look like? This class will help participants find the ability, even with their woundedness, even in circumstances when only hate seems possible, to forgive and find the path to peace. This class will help participants understand: WHY we forgive, WHAT we do when we forgive, WHOM we forgive, and HOW we forgive (we start by owning our pain).

Adult Men – The Freedom Factor
Worship Center Conference Room
Led by Marcus Shewmaker and Nathan Freeman
Through dynamic stories and solid biblical teaching, this class will help men recognize and respond to their own secret wounds. The forgotten link between suffering and unforgiveness is laid bare through the teachings of Jesus, but it doesn’t stop there! Students will learn practical and life-changing steps for forgiveness in their own lives.

Adult Women – Forgiveness: Breaking the Power of the Past
Education Bldg., Room 405
Led by Betty Jo (BJ) Huffman and Davina White
As imperfect people living in an imperfect world, we eventually confront in nearly every relationship the need to extend or receive forgiveness. But when the wounds run deep, forgiveness doesn’t come easy. This Bible study will encounter the depths of God’s own mercy and discover how choosing forgiveness can free you from a painful past and propel you toward being all that God intends you to be.
