Classes

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Our Bible classes will encourage and strengthen you in your daily walk of faith, help you get connected with others who will come alongside you for the journey, and increase your knowledge of our loving God and the good work He wants us to do.  Below is a brief overview of the classes we typically offer on Sunday mornings.  Be sure to also check out our Small Group Studies that meet at various days, times, and locations.

SUNDAY MORNINGS – 9:45 AM

Adults – Pre-Modern Church in a Post-Modern World
Worship Center Auditorium (Bldg. 2)
Led by Daniel Hayes and Shawn White
How do we understand the church’s missional identity and live out the work we are called to do in a culture that is becoming more and more antagonistic towards Christ-followers with each passing day? This class will give us perspective on and examine the current culture’s inclination towards self-centeredness, with everyone holding to their own personal truth. This study will help you lovingly hold fast to Biblical truth and gain practical insights on how to navigate the current challenges we face in both loving others and in living out our Christian faith.

Adults – Godly Living through Proverbs
Education Bldg. (Bldg. 4), Room 406
Led by Bob Lamkin, Don Morue, and Will Smith
Let God lead and find direction for your daily walk in this study of the Book of Proverbs. Explore the wisdom of reflecting on God’s glory in the details of daily life along with how our faith should impact our relationships. What you will find is that God’s ways are intensely practical and these proverbs apply to every aspect of our lives.

Adults – Protecting Your Family
Education Bldg. (Bldg. 4) Room 405
Led by Michael and Kristine Jenkins, and Jay and Vergie Carter
How are parents and families to stand strong against all the challenges currently facing us from our culture? To a great extent, the family is the number one target of Satan. The Church and God can help. You are not alone! If you are parent of young children, we want to encourage you to explore this class and how God can help equip us to face these challenges.

Junior High & High School Students – Faith/Works
Education Bldg. (Bldg. 4), Youth Room (Room 407)
Led by Erin Hayes, Mike Jessop, Sarah Logan, and Chris Mason.
We don’t work to be saved; we work because we are saved. But without faith, our works are empty service. And without works our faith is dead. This dynamic relationship is the heart of this study through the Book of James. Students will listen to the main lesson together in the Youth Room, then break up into smaller discussion groups for the remainder of class. Junior High will have their breakout session in the Worship Center Conference Room.

3rd – 5th Graders – Rescued!
Education Bldg. (Bldg. 4), Room 402
Led by Laura Shewmaker
This class will cover the Book of 2nd Samuel and will help students prepare for the upcoming Leadership Training for Christ event.  Students will learn about the life of King David and see how God pledges to David an eternal covenant. David thus becomes the prototype of the future Messiah, Jesus Christ. God used David to fulfill his eternal plan of salvation and the “rescue” of all mankind, not because he was perfect from a human viewpoint, but because the Lord was with him and showed grace to him.
