Classes

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Our Bible classes will encourage and strengthen you in your daily walk of faith, help you get connected with others who will come alongside you for the journey, and increase your knowledge of our loving God and the good work He wants us to do.  Below is a brief overview of the classes we typically offer on Sunday mornings.  Be sure to also check out our Small Group Studies that meet at various days, times, and locations.

SUNDAY MORNINGS – 9:45 AM

Adults – The Art of Neighboring
Worship Center Auditorium
Led by Jay Carter and Phil Hatler
When Jesus was asked to sum up everything into one command, he said to love God with everything we have and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Most of us have turned this simple idea of loving our neighbors into a nice saying, putting it on bumper stickers and refrigerator magnets and then going on with our lives without actually putting it into practice.  What would happen if every follower of Jesus took the Great Commandment literally? Is it possible that the solution to our society’s biggest issues has been right under our noses for the past two thousand years? This class will help you learn to value, respect, and care for the people who live in your very own neighborhood.

Adults – Just Walk Across the Room
Worship Center Conference Room
Led by Mike Jones and Will Smith
What if you knew that by simply crossing the room and saying hello to someone, you could change that person’s forever?  It has nothing to do with methods and everything to do with taking a genuine interest in another human being. All you need is a heart that’s in tune with the Holy Spirit and a willingness to venture out of your “circle of comfort” and into another person’s life. This class will give you practical encouragement on how to share the Good News with others. You may be only a conversation away from having an eternal impact on someone’s life―if you will just walk across the room.

Adults – The Neighboring Church
Education Bldg., Room 406
Led by Wyane Atkinson
Jesus commands us to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart … and love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37–40). But loving your neighbors is hard work, right? It’s messy. It’s unpredictable. It’s time consuming. Jesus’ two commands give rise to more angst, more wrestling, more failure, and more challenge than anything else you can try to do. And yet, following those two directions will bring more clarity, joy, and satisfaction to your life than anything you have ever experienced before. For the very first time, you will probably feel you are doing what God really called you to do as a Christian and as a church or ministry leader.  This class will explore the hows of loving your neighbors and give you encouragement.
