This will be our 7th year working in partnership with Central Phoenix Urban Ministry to provide backpacks full of school supplies for inner city and refugee children in downtown Phoenix. 

For a donation of $25, we can purchase and fill a backpack with all the school supplies one child will need. We’re asking for monetary donations instead of a donation of items, since we can take advantage of some bulk purchasing options and make your gift stretch further. Our goal is to provide backpacks for 300 children.  

The school year starts at the beginning of August, so our deadline for donations is July 11, which will allow us time to order the supplies and to get them to Sean McClue and his team at Central Phoenix Urban Ministry to distribute to the kids before school begins.  

If you would like to mail a check, please make it out to “Canyon Church of Christ” and write “BACKPACKS” in the memo line, or if you’re giving online type “BACKPACKS” in the “Add a note” field so we know to designate this gift as separate from a general donation.
